Women & Their Work
Downtown · Austin, Texas
Women & Their Work is a pioneering Austin nonprofit dedicated exclusively to women artists in Texas, with four decades of exhibitions, fellowships, and programming that have launched careers and permanently reshaped the Texas art world. Founded in 1978, the organization's commitment to women artists predates the mainstream art world's belated recognition of gender equity as a curatorial and professional issue, and its long history gives it a depth of artist relationships and institutional knowledge that few newer organizations can match. Women & Their Work's gallery exhibitions present Texas women artists at every career stage, and fellowship programs provide crucial financial and professional support at moments when it matters most.
